A Place to Think ~open~

After a full day of training Jay was tired he had put his all into the training everyday and frankly it was catching up to him Jay needed to slow down because he felt his life was moving too fast so Jay needed some time to think and found himself walking down the path to the Little Tiber; the river that was the replica to the one in Rome. Jay walked slowly watching his surroundings everything was familiar the field of mars the laughing coming from the baths, this was truly home and Jay found himself forgetting how truly lucky he was being here not being forced to hide and living in a good environment with people that loved him.

Jay finally reached the Little Tiber and not to his surprise there was no one in site because well they would have been training or getting ready for dinner. Jay found a nice spot near the bank to sit the water churned slowly moving past him which was calming; Jay took a deep breath and found himself thinking, did his dad really care about him he never visited when he was home with his mom never talked to her or Jay for the fact that got jay angry. He then picked up a stone that was smoothed and threw it in the water and watched it get lost in the current.

As he sat there he had a vision the same one that always came to Jay two hands being held and a sword being raised he cursed his dad for being the god of prophecy these visions haunted him because he never knew what they meant and the not knowing was killing him. Jay then sat up straight as he heard footsteps approaching. Really at this point Jay didn’t want to be alone at this time so he didn’t say anything and awaited the person.

It was one of those days when the heat was starting to get to her and wanted to cool off not to forget so did her friend and colleague which had been a great friend. As she walked down the smoothened path towards the river that ran through the camp and in wanting to do nothing, but jump in or just put her legs in whichever she knew that the cool water would feel good against her warmed skin.


Walking along she saw not far from where she was approaching that there was already someone there, someone whom she already knew because well he was apart of her own cohort and had, had some fun times listening to him play for Demetria another member of her barrack. This brought a smile to her lips as a breeze ran across the area bringing some cooling to the air. However she still felt like dipping into the cooled water to cool off completely. HOwever it didn't seem to cross Aegias's mind to go for a swim, but merely wanting to find some good shade which there was a little bit somewhere's off in which this place was good enough for him to be that far away from her as well he knew that Raven could definitely hold her own if something bad happened.

After the vision jay felt out of it like power had been drained just more exhaustion to add without him even wanting it to. Jay then starred at the back when he thought he heard footsteps but they had gone just a sudden; from the direction he thought they were coming from there was weeds so jay couldn’t see a thing. Worried jay pulled out one of his daggers that never left his waist and decided to investigate. Moving quickly along the shore the rustling noises became clearer.

Still not able to see he came out of the bushes slowly but tripped on a rock that was hidden from site and he went face down and his dagger landed a metre away but he didn’t land on the hard ground jay was cushioned by bones and muscle but then looked up at the face and saw a good friend and cohort mate raven jay then felt his cheeks go red then realised that probably hurt her so much landing right on her he then got up and said,”oh my god I’m so so so sorry raven; really I thought something was going to hurt me and............ you don’t even know how bad I feel” feeling completely like an idiot he backed away because he knew that angry girls is something that you didn’t want to be near especially if they had a pet wolf and their mother was the goddess of sorcery and witchcraft.

Still awaiting her burst like a man he stood with his arms behind his back and jay could hear the river churning then it hit him the burst of warmth up his spine for the second time he was about to get a vision, shuddering, this feeling made him fall to the ground. Thoughts were unclear and pictures and memories were coming back in his head fast it was like being kicked and punched in the head and back. Without knowing jay started to roll down to the river but stopped with only his left side in and lied there while his energy and clear head came back from the daze. Then he whispered ”what the hell just happened to me.”

As she was getting ever so closer to the bank the rustle of the brush started to pick up her movements as well as Aegias even though his was a little more than hers, but still if Jay was a little testy who knew what would happen still she kept her guard up just in case. That was when she heard other movements on the other side of the brush sounding as if cautious footsteps which made herself even cautious as well getting her magic ready by using the inner energy within her ready to use it in defending herself, hearing the rush and pull of the rivers' current a few stiff and silent moments went by until right at the wall of brush she was and heard something come through.


The next second she was down and her energy had dispersed right into another body looking up she saw that it was jay and brought blood to her cheeks as well as a quaint little smile, but still unknowing of what she had done to him for he seemed a little faint about things and weak to boot, which brought worry to her face for it was a flaw for being a child of Apollo that who brought visions of prophecy to their own inner eye. Stil she was a little embarassed about what had occured even though there wasn't time to do anything or say anything for he talked and then seemed to pass out while he rolled to the shoreline being halfway in and halfway out of the water.


Propping her up and getting on her feet she went to help him out as her hands clasped one side and his arm to roll him over as well as to pull more towards the shore than the waterfront. As he rolled over she saw that he seemed more pale than he seemed as if he hadn't had much sleep or something, sure he had fell right on top of her which made her a little mad although with his current state it softened her heart a little more. For all things needed to be balanced to be able to work properly.


"Kanthalratha-herm" As she made a diamond shaping with her own hands on his face as energy seemed to pour into his palid face and bringing some new strength into him as this was performed she grasped at the energy from Aegias to help her with the spell as she finally let it go and as well taking her hands away from his face. "Are you alright you seem to be having some trouble or something was it the visions again or something much worse? Now sitting on the bank doing as she wanted to put her legs in the cool water and yet near him to see if everything went good and that she hadn't screwed up the incantation or what not.

As jay shivered on the bank the feeling was still there warmth that was unnatural and there were images that were still there that haunted him some he didn’t even think he had seen with his own eyes but his mothers. Jay then curled up in a ball when he felt small warm hands on his cold half of his face while the other was burning. Looking up to see raven he looked up in her brown eyes full of kindness which was weird because he had just flattened her like a pancake she then said some words that jay couldn’t make out because there was still a slight ringing in his ear.

Jay lied there until he felt it power going through him he then sat up slowly because the head ach had not gone away, and with all gratitude said,”thank you... so much” he then gave her a hug she was warm and smelled really good but let go because he didn’t want to get her wet. Sitting back down on the edge he watched the water go by until she asked him, ”are you alright you seem to be having trouble or something was it the visions or something much worse” this surprised jay he hadn’t told anyone about his visions but not surprised she knew he said, ”its like nothing I have ever had happen to me before but it was like every vision starts the warmth up my spine which always makes me shudder, then everything I have ever seen just rushed back in my head, there was ringing and I lost all thoughts of everything around me when I saw it; my dad hitting my mom but it wasn’t through my eyes it was hers...... and a couple other things also but I shouldn’t go on my dad “Apollo” always says to me in my dreams know too much of the future is never good for anyone.”

Jay then put his hands on his head, ”why me” he then cursed prophecy and starred at raven for strength and sure enough he found it; jay liked this girl but something in him was holding back when a picture of Demetria popped in his head and he willed it away just as fast. Looking away from raven he made a promise to see where it would lead with them because well his heart was torn he really liked Demetria but raven he thought he might love. Jay then looked back to the river to see guidance but it was blank this was something he needed to do himself.

Keeping a keen eye on him observing his status as if like that a nurse watching their patient and yet also looking out over the river as she noticed that things were getting slightly better for the moment and then she heard something come from him. He had said with a good amount of appreciation 'thank you' which made her look back at him with those same kind eyes for she wasn't one who held grudges much even when some say she should for it was a thing that went with her bloodline and magic and all that.


Still as she saw him grasp at his head she wanted to say something especially about that she had slipped knowing that he was having visions about the future and the past when she had peeks into the future herself not as far as he, but as if a premonition of what was to come. With that she finally did say something.


"Well it was just a guess cause didn't all who was sired by the great Apollo well ya think they would have that little um...gift as for me knowing I'd have to say that it is a given once again cause of your bloodline as well your welcome even though you fell on me ya goof!" As she said the last bit it was in only humor and not to guilt him about falling on her,, but hopefully to give him a smile or something more positive. He had said something about what had happened and wasn't good about hearing that everything was coming back to him as if all the visions had came at the same exact time, which brought sympathy more to her heart than to her face as if shielding herself from showing it. "That's something which one shouldn't bare and yes your father is right at times about too much of seeing of the future is any good for everything is good in moderation, but never as an addiction is that not true?" which the question was more one that answering it was irrelevant for it was plain on the face alone. Wanting not to know of what he was seeing, but also wanting to be one to talk about things which made him feel horrible about it or something of the like she didn't want to vocalize it at all.

Jay just sat there and frankly he wanted to cry his emotions were every which way and they wouldn’t be put back together at least not until he got his mess of a life figured out, and he was defiantly going to need help doing it. At that moment Jay wished he had a true friend that could help him when he realised he had Raven to talk to, but frankly he didn’t want her to bear all the terrible things going through his mind so he kept quiet. Taking his hands off his head that had messed up his hair he flicked it to the side as it returned to its normal shape. Wanting comfort he moved back up the hill to sit right beside Raven still keeping his eyes on the water waiting for an answer and as he looked hard it seemed to wink at him surprised he looked at the image it was the sun’s reflection, leaving the sky so the moon could come out.

Raven then started talking after moments of silence and she said that his visions were a gift and well it belonged in his bloodline this made him think of all the sons and daughters of Apollo that he knew, none had ever had them and Jay knew a lot of his step brothers and sisters; this just made Jay different and well he didn’t like that. After hearing the last part of her sentence Jay smiled his best smile the one that was most charming and he looked at Raven with thankful eyes he needed the humor and it had just made his day. But Jay couldn’t help but correct her, ”actually, I didn’t fall on you I tripped over a rock; then I fell on you.” Jay then laughed, and said, ”I don’t know why but when I go into battle I always get clumsy” taking the smile off his face he looked back at Raven and said ” I truly am sorry for landing on you; are you alright ?”

Realising his question was kindove cutting off what she was going to say next he listened as she said, "That's something which one shouldn't bare and yes your father is right at times about too much of seeing of the future is any good for everything is good in moderation, but never as an addiction is that not true?" After listening to the question Jay actually didn’t know quite what she meant because he had gotten lost in her eyes but he nodded politely as it seemed the question she asked was already answered for him. Turning away before he lost all things around him and was lost in her beauty, he turned away and looked back at the little Tiber when he started to hear noises; it was the river, the little Tiber was bubbling and Jay was curious why.

Finally seeing something which was different in this son of apollo and that he seemed to get lost in her eyes which brought a weird and yet odd look to her, but still she listened and heard of what was said even though it technically wasn't much. The two of them sat near the bank him just sitting there and her with her legs in the cooled water when the noise came from what seemed like from nowhere as she found out the noise and looked directly at the river in front of them.


As they both looked at it and seeing that a image started to show themselves as Raven had thought that it was a iris message or something of the like. It was a face which seemed familiar and yet lost as well as it showed a scene of one being guided into a cave and as well with the limited image felt like there was something a miss when all of a sudden the boy in the message was caught in a trap seeing that in fact they needed help and then the image was swept away in the current leaving them to question about it.


What ran through Raven's head was, was it a cave somewhere near, maybe in camp or in the city. and who was this person in the trap not to forget that who had sent the message in the first place. For the question in her mind about that situation was were they friend or foe, someone alive or dead, or maybe even of what lineage if it was Greek, roman, or the mysterious Vea.


A few moments passed when the river was quietly rushing past when she finally had to say in order to find out if Jay was thinking the same thing she was and if like her wanted to save this unfortunate person. "I hope you saw that and you're thinking the same thing as me, cause that was weird!" Which was half the truth for it was weird, but not weird enough to be an isolated reaction for many others used the same thing in order to contact anyone living at camp or present at that time.

Jay started at the bubbling river as an image showed of a boy being trapped in a cave and Jay thought this is weird he knew that the river had magical prospects to it but of all the times he had been here he had never saw anything like this it was like a message just meant for them an adventure to fulfill prophecy. As the image faded and the bubbling stopped Jay recalled everything that had happened in it because well that was in the second time he had seen that image first in the jumbled mess of memories that had come back and now; frankly he knew where that cave was it was just down river not to far but far enough.

Raven then said the words Jay was hoping to hear “I hope you saw that and you’re thinking the same thing as me, cause that was weird!” smiling at Raven because she was cute when she worried he said, ”if your thinking we should go help that boy then I’m with ya and I know where to start” Jay then explained how he knew where that cave was and how the boy was familiar Jay then got up and put his hand out to Raven feeling much better then saying,“lets go save the boy, we have a long walk ahead of us.”

She noticed that something was brewing in the mind of Jay wasn't for sure, but could see that his brain was working on something apparent to that message taht was sent to them. As he told her that he knew where it was it got her a little confused as it showed on her face while raising a pencil thin eyebrow at him for she was interested in what he had meant. As she thought herself why didn't she see this for it seemed that the prophecy which was coming to him in visions had something to do with this boy for some reason this was destiny, or karma, or Kah stepping in and taking them away from what was thought as their destiny. However still with the thought of not knowing of whom had sent the message she was cautiously thinking of what to do and for them to be careful about it for it could be a trap that they'd be walking into.


"Yeah we should probably get going to save that unfortunate soul, but however lets be on the side of caution for we don't know if that was sent by a friend or a foe and my natural instincts tell me to be cautious about it!" As she took his hand propping herself up and taking her now cooled legs out of the moist water she went to retrieve her shoes and socks as she did this she looked to Aegias with a look that meant business. After lacing her hiking boots she stood straight and lightly touched at the notches on one of her bracelets and the one behind the necklace as her golden armor came into being looking ready to kill her friend, protector, and colleague showed his true lineage and what he was like in the heat of battle as he started to get a unanimalistic look to his fur and form as well as the single pure white tail became that of seven as well as the canines growing to that of bone needles as she looked to Jay as if she wondered if he was ready for what was to come and if they were going immediately or just going to dawdle there.

Jay pulled Raven up it wasn’t hard because she was surprisingly light as Jay then said,”ya I agree we need to be cautious because we don’t know what is out there but I do know one thing that message was sent by the gods because I had that vision and frankly they are always planning things” and Jay knew it was true also this was something they were supposed to do and succeed with. Jay then silently cursed the god who had sent the message not worried if it was his dad but then found the picture of Demetria and Raven cramped together he then cursed Venus for messing with his love life and his heart he wished that in this moment the gods would let him lead his own life.

Jay watched as Raven’s armor sprung out of her bracelets then her pet wolf Aegias who had come to Ravens side change also. Jay then looked down at his own clothing he had not brought any armor because well he was just supposed to come down here to think not try and save a boy from a cave! being on the safe side Jay went over to pick up his dagger that he lost when he clumsily tripped, he picked up the weapon and put it back in its sheath then walked back to Raven ready to leave. Closing his eyes Jay remembered the way the cave had looked and by memory remembered that they must go right, closer to the field of mars but following the shore bank until they met two small caves the one with the boy he knew was the left. Opening them again he looked at Raven and said, ”lets go, that boy needs our help.”

Looking still at Jay and wondering what he would do she looked like she was ready to go against something as Jay not having much with him grabbed up what looked like a dagger about a forearm's length or smaller giving the estimation of the size of it. hesitating she thought of giving him one of her bracelets and letting him have her shield, but then she remembered that even though they had been built by a son of Vulkan it was specifically designed with her magic and so only reacted to her touch which made her feel a slight bit of pity for him not having something to protect himself with, then she caught herself from showing it and realizing that even if things were going to be happening she could improvise or something. However the thing still puzzled her that he was receiving the visions which also concurred with that of the message that was sent to them, however it being water she thought if it was by any of the gods it would be connected to that of water which might of been old Poseidon or Triton which she wondered of which it was.


"Well if it is any of the Gods may it be one who has dominion over that of water for even though it was sent via by the messenger of the gods, well still it does point to that of one of the sea gods!" Shruging in the middle of what she was saying and then finishing what she said she started to follow him to the direction in which his visions had showed him in the very first place which even if they were walking it couldn't of been still in that of the camp or if it was, was it one of the other campers getting a rise out of one of them or was it perhaps something else, this and many thoughts arose to Raven's mind as they started their journey on this quest to help someone in need!

Seeing her caring eyes looking at him Jay knew what she was thinking and he was very happy that she cared. Jay then said, ”don’t worry I will be fine, I wouldn’t think anything will happen on a walk that should only take us half an hour through flat ground along the bank; plus you can see all around us were in the open” smiling bravely reassuring Raven, Jay found him reassuring himself. Just wanting to take Raven’s hand and run away with her instead of finding this boy but if it made her happy he was all along.

Still looking at Raven he didn’t see the little sink hole in front of him and Jay got stuck. Not sure if Raven realised this he pulled his hardest and his leg came free as he ran to catch up with Raven before she got too far. His pants were now wet and he had lost a shoe on the way he walked in front of Raven trying to make himself look good which was hard to do when you only had one shoe but he lead the way. Jay looked all around him everything was so familiar and yet he had only been here once yet the way was as clear as day the river beside him the field of mars to the right and the weeds they were going through right now.

noticing that he was right in saying that not much would happen to them she seemed to be less cautious about the area, but in a pickle she'd be suited for battle and knowing some kinds of things that could possibly happen she kept her armor on that was until she looked back for only a second and laughed putting a hand to her mouth for it seemed that Jay had lost his shoe which in a different situation it would've been down right hilarious however he needed a shoe to fit his other.


Putting her hand down she looked as he came ever so closer and caught up to her for she knew of where they where going, but not how far so they had to keep up with one another in order to know the way. Looking down she mumbled a couple choice words that used the energy from the water and his shoe was returned to him on the current as she bent into the water catching it up like a bucket in water and with her sweet smile she gave it to him to put back on. For she didn't use her skills for not many because if they knew they'd want solutions to other things and only showed it to people she cared about and obviously those who cared for her as well.


"Ya know you look a little cute when your pathetic, but hopefully things will change for you mayhap they are already changing for you at this very second! For at that moment she was pretty much in a nutshell flirting with the son of Apollo even though it was for not that Trivia didn't venture out much against men for she thought that they would betray womankind. Still she felt taht it was normal for a girl to flirt with a boy no matter his lineage and so she did this anyways as wanting more she grabbed at his hand and started to walk again with him in hand so as to show something was there and for the two of them to not get to lost from one another even though at times her pace was a little quickened than his. Which would've been put down to her upbringing on the streets and that for someone didn't last long staying in one spot for so long and not having a defense to protect themselves.

Jay walked happily beside Raven when she realised he didn’t have a shoe she laughed but tried to hide it with her hand Jay said, ”ya I know, I guess the mud doesn’t like me” smiling he listened as Raven muttered some words and he watched as his shoe appeared in the river and Raven went to get it and handed it back to Jay. Happy to have his shoe he put it on and said, ”thank you” feeling it was a little soggy he didn’t care it was nice to be level again and it seemed to help him keep pace with Raven as she liked to walk a little bit faster then Jay.

After some moments of silence Jay realised how happy Raven made him feel, when she made him even more happy and said, "Ya know you look a little cute when your pathetic, but hopefully things will change for you mayhap they are already changing for you at this very second!” and the moment Jay had been waiting for approached when he noticed she was flirting with him Jay then looked to the sky and thanked Venus and when things couldn’t get better Raven took his hand and he felt the warmth go up his spine and hoped he wouldn’t pass out but he just looked down at his and her hands and realised part of his vision had just came true; something he had been waiting for but he couldn’t have said it because his breath was taken away by the thoughts of Raven liking him. After a couple moments of silence Jay just had to make sure this wasn’t a joke and she didn’t just feel bad for him. He stopped with the caves in sight and said, ”Raven I really like you a lot.....” without any more words he heard a cry it sounded like it came from the cave and that’s when he knew save boy know and ask beautiful girl out later.

Without letting Raven finish he took her hand and ran the rest of the way to the caves not tripping on anything he looked to see Raven and flashed his happiest smile then looked straight ahead as the caves were so close. Jay thought under any circumstances this would have been so romantic because well you could see the sunset at an orangey pink which he promised to thank his dad for later a girl he loved in his hand and frankly adventure no matter where it was leading them. As Jay approached the cave entrances he didn’t hesitate and took the right tonal as he knew the boy would be half way though and there was going to be a monster and hand in hand Raven and Jay entered the darkness.
