Noticing that Jay was happy about finally having a level footing cause he had two shoes on instead of just the one which in turn made her happy for as they held hands he was able to keep up a little more than of usual as she seemed to feel the coolness of his own hand getting ever so closer Jay let go and ran for the caves as she took half the distance when she ran that was before she looked towards the horizon to see of how much time they had of natural sunlight which wasn't much for it was already sunset.
Looking again at the opening to the darkness which was the cave she entered with Aegias at her ankles as they both went in they both knew that there was the possibility of a monster awaiting them as a flicker of sunlight twinkled in the forboding darkness waiting to swallow them whole traveling and taking the tunnels that would easily guide them to the captured demigod or so she had thought it was for it was the only actual distinction that it had to be one of their own for a monster to take them and in the area of Camp Jupiter to boot. Not wanting to start a light so as to see what was ahead and giving away their position they went by using other senses which Aegias easily took the lead as his white fur stuck out even in the dark for he had taken enough energy so as his pelt shimmered a light glow.
That was until finally getting to the outer rim of the area where the captive was that was where they stayed for a mere second so as to see of what would come out of the darkness as seeing that there was not only a glow coming from her pet, but her armor as well with her sword hand on the hilt ready to unseath it in an instant wondering again what would spring out to try and kill the both of them.

As Jay, Raven and her dog aegias walked through the dark Jay was happy Raven was still holding his hand for one that he wasn’t going to admit but he was afraid of the dark and two by not letting go she proved to him that she liked Jay also. After walking through the caves his eyes started to adjust when he saw the glowing fur of the dog and ravens armor this made his smile even bigger then it was before, for some reason. Jay started to feel the temperature drop as they entered the main area or room where the boy was kept.
Closing his eyes Jay thought and then the vision came clear in his eyes but with light the boy was on the far wall suspended by his feet with a gag around his mouth. Opening his eyes Jay looked in the direction of the boy when he heard whistling coming from the other side that sounded like jingle bells. Scared it the dark Jay moved quickly over to Raven and pressed her on the wall trying to cover the light from her armor not wanting the thing to notice them, putting them both in the same amount of danger as the boy who in his vision he guessed was a son of Venus.
Still pressing Raven he looked at her with his brown eyes sorely hoping this wouldn’t ruin the whole him asking her out; but more or less studied her to see if she was going to be mad about the whole grab and press on the wall thing. Keeping his eyes on her as he was more afraid of Raven then this monster. Listening silently he listened to his breathing trying to keep it under control but it was hard to be calm when you were on a dead line to save a boy’s life and you had complete control over a girl that you loved.

As she stood there ready to attack the thing that was apparently somewhere around in the larger spaced room in the cavern when as she was about to someone was whistling on the farther portion of the room beyond the opening which before she could utter the words which where on the tip of her tongue was lost when someone namely Jay grabbed her and by pressing her against the wall wanting not to be seen by the gigantic monster which seemed to dim the light which was coming from her armor waiting a moment or two after the thing stopped whistling she slapped him across the face for doing such a thing as she whispered to him so low that the Cyclops couldn't hear her.
"Why did you do that I was just about to do something a little more quieter than what you've just done you biggit!" as she quickly quieted herself from not being seen even though her armor could possibly do taht in a pinch again she grabbed at a small file in her pocket with a unknown concoxtion as it dropped and stepped on by her own boot the glass broke and something happened to her as she became like that of smoke in appearance being there and yet not being able to be seen even with her armor on that was. As in noticing that Jay would probably exclaim about this she took her left pointer finger hushing him in case he was going to give them away again as she looked towards Aeg as he became the same unleashing some of the kept up energy that was consumed by the sun and his surroundings.
Her caring brown eyes looked towards the wall in which the boy hung and wondered of what the reason why that this one-eyed giant wanted to taste the flesh of a Son of Venus when she knew that they more liked that of the Goat flesh was he a trap for some unknowing satyr to come and save him or maybe that of others which would be of more importance as she took the small hairpin that seemed to keep up a portion of her hair became a silvery bow and one of the small silvery pencil-like things looking to jay so as to clear her line of sight hoping to strike the arrow right in the Cyclops most vulnerable flesh of its own eye. Hoping that if this happened that Jay would be able to rescue the boy which was in chains.

Jay wasn’t surprised as it was quite unreasonable but listen as she said, "Why did you do that I was just about to do something a little quieter than what you've just done you biggit!" Jay looked sorely into her eyes then walked to the other side of the cave quietly not wanting to be hurt anymore because he guessed that he just ruined his whole chance with asking her out. Looking sadly at the ground Jay found himself looking back up at Raven just as he armor started to fade and the same with Looking at Raven in the darkness he found his muscles tensing all over when Raven slapped him. aegias which he hadn’t been paying attention to. Starting to feel the pain in his cheek; suffering through it he dealt with the pain because he must have really deserved it.
Staring at Raven with a quizzical look he watched as she pulled out a pin from her hair which turned into a bow making some of her hair drop and Jay's jaw almost dropped she was gorgeous with her hair down. And then took a thing that looked like a pencil out probably one of her arrows Jay thought. Sadly Jay didn’t have any but found himself missing his bow and arrows because daggers wouldn’t do much in this case.
scanning the area he looked at the chains and thought three slashes ;when his next thought was cut off by the monster that he could now see was a Cyclops say, “I’m gonna eat good tonight!” then letting of a yellow crocked toothy grin at the boy. Jay watched the Cyclops as he tended to the fire which wasn’t far from the son of Venus. Not wanting to look at the Cyclops because he was truly very ugly he looked back at Raven who seemed to be looking at him Jay nodded as it was time to get him down before it was too late. Hiding in the shadows Jay walked back over to Raven hoping she wouldn’t use one of the arrows on him Jay said stubbornly, ”I will get the boy you kill the beast” getting ready to fight Jay waited until Raven took her first shoot to distract the Cyclops so he could get the boy down.

She watched as Jay went towards the boy and she got ready to fire at the giant monstrosity who had put this into motion by capturing the young demigod. As her four-legged friend went as stelathily as he could without using the energy which would be used for other things holding his tails upward as the light from the fire danced around them being deflected and not giving away its whitened fur which would've given them away.
It would've went off without a hitch if the kid would've stayed completely still instead of mumbling something behind the gag that was in his mouth thinking that it was just him responding to what the giant cyclops had said earlier about eating good tonight. Unfreezing himself from what would've given him away went forth again and now was right beside him behind its thigh. It seemed that things were going to go alright even though that one portion which Raven thought the big oof would've noticed them seeing her pet and friend looking back at her and she nodded in turn putting things into action.
Things seemed to go off without a hitch starting with Aegias puncturing the Cyclops' thigh with his bone-needle like canines driving pain into him as he noticed the pain and looked for where it was coming from and thought he saw something at the opening of the cave staring at it. As he stared a series of things happened first Raven let go with the bowstring letting the arrow fly true as she was taught aiming for the thin membrane of the eye and Aegias used the energy to blow a sheet of ice that made his feet be incased in blocks of ice these two things gave enough time for them to take care of business.
As the giant monstrosity seemed to struggle against the blocks and with one hand taking the arrow out of its eye a thin film of the substance in its eye started to fall as it was still blinded from its injury trying to get its feet loose Raven looked towards Jay seeing if he was able to get the chains taken off of the boy who had been taken captive as she stayed in the shadows and Aegias was already out of the area they where ready to start running from this thing before it could get the chance, that was until a hard thud was sounded making her look towards and seeing that he had fallen and the blocks of ice had broken as well giving its legs freedom to move around which was now the possible time to start running no matter what was going on.

Jay walked slowly and quietly as the plan turned into action, he put his trust in Raven to kill the monster on her own but couldn’t help to see if she was ok so he turned around to see aegias bite the Cyclops then Raven take a shot at the Cyclops’s eye which of course hit remembering he had things to do Jay quietly ran over towards the boy who was dangling from chains and trying very hard to get lose but Jay came out of the shadows so he could tell the boy to shut up so he wouldn’t get caught. The boy looked understanding and stayed still as Jay got his dagger out. Knowing this would make a lot of noise he just wanted it to be over with so he didn’t have to rush; he ran from the boy and over to Raven just as the Cyclops got what seemed to be ice unfrozen from its feet and was coming towards Raven quickly.
At that moment everything around Jay went quiet and his heart dropped he had to help Raven no matter what so he ran over without the monster seeing him and he pulled out his dagger and threw it with perfect aim and watched as it flew through the air praying his dad for a perfect shot Jay watched as it hit the heart of the Cyclops and it took a few minutes but the monster exploded into dust thankfully his dad had answered. Now truly scared of what Raven might do to him because he had done her job he stood off a bit from her and removed the boys gag saying, ”ill help you down..... If I live through it” eyeing Raven because he knew a mad girl is something you want to be know where near.

As she awaited for the giant monster to start running towards her, wondering of what Jay was doing for he was taking a little more time then what was capable to free the boy for she definitely had the attention of it not to mention that it was a little blinded and so wouldn't know of what was going on. That was until she saw something flying through the air and striking the single eyed behemoth as it exploded into a million of pieces which wasn't apart of her plan, but it wasn't the first time her plan had been spoiled by this Son of Apollo however the threat was over and now they had plenty of time to do what needed to be done.
As the potion which she had made started to finally wear off her footsteps led her back into the lair which was the cyclops which they had no knowledge nor wanted to know of what its true name was, however they did want to know the name of this Son of Venus as she stood there seeing the chains holding him which she now knew why the dagger wouldn't work shaking her head as the loose strands of brown hair flew back and forth as her left hand free of the bow now as it was now in its compacted form with that her left hand flew outwards with a motion as the chains seemed to be cut by something sharper and yet wasn't there she had used her magic once again and was about taxed out for the day and she knew that Aegias had expelled his own from what he had done. They only had enough for minor things even though with a good night's sleep she'd be replenished.
Going to the boy she helped him up looking at him and seeing that he definitely had the characteristics of the children of Venus as it was true now seeing that there where only minor cuts and scrapes which would heal on their own time she said in a calm relaxed voice "Hi, the name is Raven Hawthorn Daughter of Trivia, that is Jay Beckensdale Son of Apollo, and finally this is Aegias my good friend and protector. However what is your name as I can tell you are of the lineage of Venus, but that only tells us one thing which is knowledge and which we seek just thy name so what is it if you don't mind my asking?"

Jay started to feel worse and worse everything he did was making Raven mad now and all he wanted was for her to know that Jay was just being protective. Jay frowned slightly and watched as Raven came closer; seeming like she was ignoring him he just stood there like nothing was bothering him when really he wanted to cry. On the other hand he had even more on his mind then he did before he even came down to the magical river. Like how his throw hit the Cyclops right in the heart it was quite impressive well Jay thought anyways. Looking up from the ground he looked at the boy sad that his daggers wouldn’t cut the chain but only the gag that was now on the floor where it looked like it came from.
Looking very close at the boy know he realised that he looked very similar to a girl he had met in the city. Smiling at the boy he starred at Raven loathingly because she didn’t even know how much it hurt that she was mad at him. He then watched as Raven got over to him and the boy, worried that he might get hurt his whole body tensed and he watched as she stopped and shook her head then moved he hand and cut the boy free going head first towards the ground Jay acted fast and caught the son of Venus and set him on his feet while saying just to the boy, “its a good thing you guys watch what you eat or I might have dropped ya.” smiling even bigger at his own joke Jay looked over to the fire which was dimming and acted fast and grabbed a piece of wood then put it in the fire to keep some flame so they could find their way out later praying to any god that would keep it going.
As Jay held the torch he listened as Raven said in a kind voice to the boy "Hi, the name is Raven Hawthorn Daughter of Trivia, that is Jay Beckensdale Son of Apollo, and finally this is Aegias my good friend and protector. However what is your name as I can tell you are of the lineage of Venus, but that only tells us one thing which is knowledge and which we seek just thy name so what is it if you don't mind my asking?" Admiringly when Raven said his name he gave a slight three fingered wave. Then finally hearing the first words of the boy he said, “yes I am the son of Venus, my name is Alexander Waite third cohort” but Jay noticed when he spoke he said it with attitude which Jay really didn’t appreciate right now because frankly this boy might have just lost him a chance with an amazing girl that he loved. Eyeing the boy carefully he looked at the both of them then said, “Hmm” and walked away with his head held high leaving them alone.
Jay then looked at Raven with pleading eyes and got out what he was going to say before,”I’m sorry........ I’m an idiot when around girls that I like.” Jay then looked at the ground as his heart beat a million times a minute waiting to see if she would walk out on him or talk to Jay to see if he could figure things out between them because he didn’t want it to be over with Raven just yet.

Looking at Jay for a mere second and then at the boy they had just rescued as she heard of his name and the attitude in it, the way he said it made her a little testy as she rolled her eyes at how he had said it and knew that if it wasn't for them he'd still be hanging on the wall and about to be put on a spit. Crossing her arms across her chest she saw that things were getting brighter for Jay had picked up a piece of wood that blazed with light and life. That was also when he wondered about her and if she was mad at him for doing something in being nervous.
Her features seemed to soften a lot for this wasn't what she had meant for she wasn't one of those girls who cared more about their looks then their own brains and that this was only a facade for she didn't want everyone to think that children of Trivia to be so soft as well to that which her Greek counterpart hated, by liking that of the male gender which remembering if a son of poseidon and a daughter of athena could get with each other then why not a daughter of trivia and a male counterpart coexist without violence. finally she looked at him in the minor firelight as now the one named Alexander from the Third Cohort disappeared she left all pretences and finally showed that she did have feelings and didn't show it at times. Looking at him with those calm eyes and calm voice she spoke of things dear to her own heart and in showing this hoping that it wouldn't get through the camp like a wildfire. "Oh Jay wha have I done to wrong you, for it isn't I who shows my inner most secrets to those I know so little about. For my bringing up was a hard one and was a live where if one knew your secrets they could destroy you in an instant. It isn't that I don't like you or anything I just don't know how really to show my emotions. If I knew how to I would show you in an instant!"
Even though she had been shown on how to show her emotions even if it was a crude instruction on the basics of what she knew from intuition on how others showed their emotions to others. Looking downward part in shame and part to look at her friend who had helped her from being killed and before getting to camp and thus not being able to help in the fight that happened a few years ago. Hastily shaking her head the emotions once again were erased and she was the same as she was not showing an inch in her mental and emotional armor which was her identity. As she still looked down she saw that Aegias was mostly himself by now and was only showing three single tails instead of the seven or nine as the other features had apparently gone away, which gave her the intuition that there might not be any other things to harm them even though if something did she'd be ready in an instant. Although with steady nimble fingers they grazed the notches as the armor disappeared and was herself yet again ready and waiting to see what would happen next.

Jays heart was racing and it felt as if at a moment is might fall out of his chest. Jay had so much on his mind but he needed to get away from that so he decided to let his heart guide him which by Lupa he had been told wasn’t a very good idea. Looking at Raven he couldn’t help but mutter, ”so beautiful” Jay couldn’t look away he loved everything about raven and she didn’t show very many signs that she liked him like that. Not wanting to be let down he looked at the torch waiting for Raven’s words.
After a minute of silence Jay looked back at Raven seeing she had not left and her face had softened which was great then she said with a bit of hesitation Jay noticed, "Oh Jay what have I done to wrong you, for it isn't I who shows my inner most secrets to those I know so little about. For my bringing up was a hard one and was a live where if one knew your secrets they could destroy you in an instant. It isn't that I don't like you or anything I just don't know how really to show my emotions. If I knew how to I would show you in an instant!" Jay listened closely and was a bit confused so she did like him Jay thought well that is great! Smiling the biggest he had ever it seemed to stretch across his face showing his white teeth. At that moment Jay’s heart started to flutter and his stomach was doing somersaults. Speechless he watched as her head went down to look at aegias he was calm which was great and Jay watched even more closely as Raven shredded her armor.
Walking closer Jay knew this was the right time he threw the remaining bit of fire burning on the wood back into the fire keeping it a blaze then put a warm hand on her cheek and brushed away the hair with his thumb and finally leaned in as his lips touched hers everything melted inside of Jay her lips were soft and Jay never wanted it to end. Then he pulled away not wanting to make Raven uncomfortable but kept he in a hugging position with both arms wrapped around her hips to the lower back and said in his most kind voice trying not to mess up his words, ” if you ever want anything from me you just ask” meaning if she ever wanted anything or needed something he was always going to be there for her, still holding her he looked into her eyes as if trying to tell her I love you.

As their lips locked for what seemed like only a moment's breath she felt shocked and surprised by this for she hadn't meant all that in one sentence did she? Or was this merely something that had been building upon the entire time and her efforts to hide herself had been for not, for it seemed that this boy was one who wanted her for her and not of other reasons nor agendas. Still as they were so close to each other she heard the words and wondered if there was anything she wanted from him and seeing that there wasn't a reason for her to have anything to ask of him at that very moment.
She pushed him away lightly with a blazing smile of her own as her cheeks felt warm and reddened by that one courageous move she picked back up the torch and with the heat that had just been emitted by Jay the torch felt alive again as it sprang ablaze at the top for them to use for the night's light as it shown like a beacon just in that area of the cave it looked like noon day sunlight just in that area alone. she came back to him and grabbed at his hand seeming to want his touch for some reason as if she longed for it for some reason. For she knew she could be like this when it was just them alone, however in the company of others she'd be as rough as stone as it would seem still with their hands together with Aegias as their quote "Chaporone" led him out into the passage to enter into the nearly new darkness of the night.

Jay’s stomach hadn’t stopped turning and everything about his life felt better. A little disappointed when Raven pushed him away but that didn’t dampen his mood he felt like king of the world. So happy to know Raven liked him. All signs proved it to she was smiling and blushing a lot; and Jay couldn’t help but mimic her actions. Smiling like a mad man he watched as Raven picked up the torch that he had thrown down and it seemed to glow brighter in her hand making everything brighter around them.
Jay looked wasn’t surprised when Raven took him hand again but more relieved it seemed as his body reacted to Raven’s touch always fuelling him. Jay’s heart finally began to slow as they walked out of the cave closing most distance between himself and Raven he felt their shoulders touch when the short trip with aegias leading they found themselves in the dark night sky. still holding Raven’s hand he wondered what time it was and if they were breaking curfew without caring Jay walked a little faster leading Raven to a spot by the river where he had found the day after he arrived at Camp Jupiter looking down at his SPQR marks he had three now for each year and yet he never remembered going back to that spot.
After a good ten minutes Jay spotted the place and walked down between the weeds and rocks leading Raven when they were at the sand and the Little Tiber was rushing past them urging raven to sit down he looked around then focused on the moons reflection in the river it was very pretty. Bringing back a ton of memories but the good kind he went off into his own world where nothing mattered around him and somewhat dreamt.
Jay was back at his house in San Diego on the beach where the old cement outline from an old house was and he over looked the ocean in front of him where the moon was full his expression was filled with sadness. Looking around he heard the crackling fire in the distance and the waves crashing and Jay watched himself as a tear ran down his cheek. Then Jay heard light footsteps and a girl came running up then sat beside Jay as he looked over Jay remembered her name was kaitlyn his best friend sadly not his sister but she had moved away when Jay was eleven when the girl in his vision looked about sixteen; confused Jay looked into her eyes and suddenly the real world came back to him. Looking over he saw Raven and was just so happy to know he had someone left.

As they walked through the tunnels which they had entered at sunset having only a certain amount of light they exited with a darkened blue sky as the tiny beacon of light still held true in her hand that was until things changed for instead of her guiding them and all that Jay started guiding her towards a portion of the river which seemed to be hidden somewhat by the higher ground in which they deverted towards the embankment towards it.
She held his hand firm and kept in step with him even if he tried to go faster in his stride she was there to match his own as they finally stopped at a beach with what seemed like fine white sand and the river rolling past and at times ebbing and flowing into that little inlet of beach. Both sitting in the sand they seemed to be there for some reason as she knew it was getting close to curfew and the furies would start to go in search of campers out of bed and that stuff which she never liked those monsters which were the only thing able to be in the encampment.
Still they sat there while Jay seemed to be thinking of something true to him she grounded the torch into the soft sand grounding it on a straight angle as it stood up right giving them some light she wondered what Jay was thinking of for he seemed a little less composed then usual as if this brought back memories of old which she had no idea of for she couldn't reach his mind at that very moment. For one she was tired and two he seemed to be keeping to himself a little more than usual.

Sitting down on the beautiful white sand he looked at Raven and said, ”hey sorry for being so quite but this place just reminds me of home....... so pretty,” looking at the moon in the river it was full then focusing on Raven Jay looked into her eyes and said, ”I like this place a lot its better then the muddy banks and it private... kindove like a way to leave the camp but still be safe.” smiling because there was beautiful scenery and a beautiful Jay watched the flame in the sand as it tipped; reaching over quickly because Raven had yet to notice he set it straight back in the sand.
Having let go of Raven’s hand he grabbed it again never wanting to let go for a long period of time. Jay then remembered in the cave when she said she knew so little about him and realised that he hadn’t told Raven really anything about him. Wanting her to know that he cared Jay said, ”I remember now before you said in a mention that you liked me.........” completely blushing now Jay said, ”you said you know so little about so I wanted to tell you.”
”I grew up on a beach in San Diego in a small house with my mom and a horrible step dad....... and, a little sister named Mary (tearing up) she uh... died of brain cancer when she two I loved her very much but old Letus wasn’t being kind. When I was twelve we went to a cabin for my birthday when things got weird and went home and that night John hit me, and I ran away then lived in several places for two years when Lupa found me and I went to the wolf house as all do then arrived here.”
Smiling Jay looked over at Raven and said, ”know you know something about me” not wanting to pry on Raven’s life he left it to her to tell him remembering she had said her life was hard but Jay was there for comfort. Letting go of Raven’s hand he took of his boots and soggy socks then put his feet in the water knowing it had magical prospects but he didn’t care after a day of training if felt great to take a load off and to just relax for once. Not really wanting to talk that much anymore but to keep things friendly he put a slight smile on his face while all that was going through Jay’s mind was his past.

Seeing the beauty of the beach and agreeing in a slight nodding of the head as she looked over the river as the moon shifted over it like light on a mirrored surface as it played on it. Without noticing that the flame was dipping towards the sand that his hand went away from hers and righted the torch and in making it right.
She looked behind and saw the movement of the sand and smiled nervously as she saw that she hadn't fully struck the hardened packed earth that would keep it steady and upright. As she heard of Jay saying that he had been brought up with privileges and barely a hard life afterwards, but however she still saw that he had some hardships that touched his very soul.
Still holding his hand she listened for the time being letting him to tell all that he wanted to tell to her about his life which seemed like his family was broken as well as his home. Raven didn't want to show anymore empathy than she had already had, but something in his story about his life concerned her and wanted to hear more of it, even though that would warrant her telling him something about her life as well. Hugging her legs toward her torso she watched and listened to him tell what needed to be put out there as Aegias just laid in the cool sand resting his head on his forelegs with keen eyes keeping aware of their surroundings and thus hopefully giving them a early warning about what was to come their way.
