Zephyr sighed as he headed down the tunnel fully equipped for guard duty to relieve one of the legionnaires. He had his dagger strapped to his belt on his hip and his spear retracted and in its sling holder across his back. Zephyr wasn’t too fond of guard duty at the entrance to Caldecott Tunnel but everyone one had to do it every once in a while to be fair to everyone and not have the same two legionnaire guarding all the time. He supposed the only two that didn’t do guard duty were the Praetors. At first he hadn’t thought it was fair that they didn’t do guard duty but he understood now that they had more responsibility then anyone else at camp so they shouldn’t have to do guard duty as well. Zephyr remembered when he was in Probatio he got a lot more guard duty then he did now and had always been teamed up with another legionnaire that was more experienced he knew now it was because they didn’t want only rookies guarding the entrance but when he had guard duty with a Probatio now it somewhat felt like baby-sitting.
He sighed as he walked down the tunnel slowly forcing his feet to pull him forward. He really didn’t like guard duty because it took time away from his training one of the things he did enjoy doing. It had been a while since he had been outside of New Rome or camp Jupiter anyways. He also knew that the other legionnaire that would be relieving the other guard would be following behind him shortly. He wondered who he would be paired up with who would be his companion and his back up should they need to fight for their time in serving on patrol. He hoped they were competent enough for him not to worry about watching his back if they did run into trouble and hoped they would be somewhat interesting to talk to as well.

It was after dinner thankful for the later hours of guarding the border for she liked the night for some reason even though her mother wasn't that of the nocturnal or of the night though it just was. With her weapons always on her she had been given a slip of paper while sitting at her table issuing her to go and releave those who where guarding the tunnel. As if with disappointment or annoyance either way it was a chance to get to know others as well as to be out in the open air she went to the tunnel and its darkness while pressing the notch behind the necklace around her throat as well as the wristbands as the armor propelled out covering most of her being. As she started to walk with a purpose another joined her walking side by side as a mental note came into her mind it was her friend and protector Aegias the mix Albino Kitsune/Malamute with now showing all nine tails and on his guard they followed a boy from the same Cohort in which she hadn't known of him much so this would be a chance meeting for her and this boy who's name was Zephyr a rare and unusual name. Still they followed to releave the others who had been guarding the tunnel for a good time before dinner she had done some research and memorization of spells and that just in case something had happened while in camp or out of camp and so was well prepared for being on duty for the night, how long was the question though.

Zephyr glanced behind him and spotted the girl and her fox-dog who he somewhat recognized from his Cohort who he guessed was the other person that would be joining him. He didn’t know her too well even though they were in the same cohort but knew she could hold her own so he wasn’t too worried. He stopped for a moment to let them catch up. He nodded to her. “So you two going to be my back up” he asked giving them a quick once over. “I don’t think we’ve officially formally met, even if we are in the same cohort. I’m Zephyr” he said extending his hand out to her before continuing on.
It was a good idea in his mind to be at least friendly to the person whom he was going to be having the only contact with until their relief came after all. Reaching the end of the tunnel he tapped one of the legionnaire guards out for them to go and have dinner and take a break and what not as he and this girl had come to relieve them. “That’s an interesting dog you have there” Zephyr said. “Where’d you get it?” he asked curious about the beast as well as the girl.

Even though her strides where of good measure the other boy let her catch up to him able to have a little chit-chat about things before they had to start doing what was intended for them to do. She smiled a little flirty thin smile and a slight twinkle in her eye for this guy was going out of his way to be nice and friendly it seemed he wasn't too bad of a guy to know. As they walked side to side she started to lightly bite her bottom lip before answering him for to not answer a question which hanged in the air was unfriendly at all.
"Thanks! My name is Raven its nice to actually introduce yourself to me for I've seen you around the place as for my friend well let's just say without him I wouldn't be here for Aegias saved my life before even leaving Detroit!"
As they finally got to the mouth of the tunnel which signaled the entrance of the camp or at least one of them and he touched one of the legionnaire guards as she at the same time copied him so they both could go have a nice warm meal as they left down the other end of the tunnel towards camp she got ready to stand guard as Aegias seemed to just look out into the darkened night sky and kept silent watch of all that was going on from the things outside to Raven and even to what Zephyr was doing as well for he was and always will be her protector.
