It was luckily a lazy early evening and Will had some time for himself for once. It was an advantage he was more than willing to take. Being at the camp he didn't always get breaks, but when he did get them he took them with relish. Of all things he wanted to do, it was to play music down at the amphitheater. Of course Will was one for playing the guitar, he believed it to be the instrument that could play the hottest licks. That and the girls just loved a melting show to say the least. No puns intended on any behalf of course. So as a musician he had to keep up on his playing, which he was taking the time now.
He had taken his acoustic guitar with him. Sure the electric posed better sounds, but he kept that sort of thing for bigger shows. For now he was just going to practice under a sweet sunset and reminisce. If others showed up though hearing him play he wouldn't care, the more the merrier. Will loved that sort of attention to himself. Casually he made his way down to the stage of the theater. He got on the stage and started to set up. It was nice being up there on the stage, it made him feel almost on top of the world or in a world of his own he wasn't sure which.
Either way, he got set up and sat down on a stool made out of log that was there and began to strum at his guitar. Luckily for how good he took care of it he didn't need to tune it. It took a few moments to think of a song but once he did he began to play it. The early evening air was filled with musical sound. With each strum, the vibrant golden red acoustic reverberated melodious notes up and down the scale. The song Will had chose was one that he knew for a while. It was the Keith Urban song Love Somebody Like You, so country could rock on occasion. Yet he jammed it like it could rock the stars themselves.

Alison walked by the amphitheater which she did often but never really went in this was because she really had no talent in music or acting that was where the Apollo and Dionysus children shinned while the Athena children showed their strength in battle and other arts such as weaving. She heard a single guitar playing in the amphitheater playing a song she had recognised but couldn’t name it because she wasn’t really listening but finally the music in a way spoke to her ; it was so perfectly play with a lot of confidence she decided to go in the amphitheater and see who the talented guitarist was. She wasn’t very surprised to see it was a son of Apollo on the stage. Being that Apollo was the god of music they had natural musical talent.
Alison then went to sit in a seat far in the back to listen so she wouldn’t be seen. There was no one else in the amphitheater but her and the boy on stage, whose name was Will she had met him on the second day at camp introducing himself with confidence and charm. This did not catch Alison’s attention at the time but seeing him up on stage paying was breath taking beauty. but she tried not to focus on Will but on the music because just like the sons of Aphrodite there looks are very deceiving she had also not wanted to like him like that because she had already fallen for Jake mason; which he had still not paid much attention to her, this made her very angry not at him but herself why couldn’t she have the daughters of Aphrodite’s beauty. But she put those thoughts behind her as she continued to listen to the music . After a little bit of listening to him play she realized it was the song love somebody like you by Keith urban. Her dad had loved Keith urban it was one of his favourites he used to listen to one CD of his all day. The thought of her dad she started to feel the tears coming up in her eyes but forced them down it had been seven happy years at camp and she wasn’t going to ruin her perfect week with one memory. Alison sucked it up as she watched the boy rock out on an acoustic guitar to the song. She then started to laugh watching him play he was a bit of a goof on stage. Realizing how far away she was she decided to get a seat a bit closer so she could hear it better.

Once Will was done playing he stroked his guitar all the way down its neck as if he was caressing it. He loved his instrument. It was the only possession that he enjoyed playing with really. Mostly because he could sit and enjoy its longing sounds. Some he heard would say that it was the instrument of love, and in some cases he believed them. He closed his eyes as he ran his hand along it. The feel of the wood, the strings, the frets, they all felt like a friend one hadn't seen in what seemed like ages. He took in a deep breath of the night air, held it for a brief moment, and then exhaled letting the excited tension run through his veins and out his body. This was a ritual for him coming down to the theater to play. Sometimes he gained an audience sometimes he didn't, it all just depended on what he was playing and who was around at the time.
All of a sudden he noticed he was being watched by a lovely girl. He smiled at her, leaned down and grabbed bottle of water he had brought also with him, and opened it to take a drink. Once he was done he licked his lips and held the smile towards the girl. An audience already, and a girl at that, it was a good night then. He spoke up to her, "Hello there! I wasn't expecting visitors. Your welcome to stick around though if you'd like. I love having company, most especially the presence of a lovely lady."
He gave a gracious tilt bow of his head to her, honestly thankful she was there. He took another drink of his water and then set the bottle back down on the ground. He re rested his right arm over the saddle looking part of the guitar box and asked, "Might I play you a song? Your choice of course."

As Alison moved closer she realised he was done playing the son that had brought back very happy moments of her dad. At this Alison had moved up to the fifth row and she watched him he was caressing his guitar it was very odd but he must love it very much. Alison starred at the son of Apollo he was very attractive and if she was not as in love as she is with Jake mason she might ask him out. This still disappointed Alison that a boy couldn’t tell when a girl liked them even though she had not made it that obvious she still thought he would have a clue. She then looked back at the boy he was talking to her and all she had heard was I like company, which he most likely got every time he played because of course who wouldn’t want to see a cute talented boy sing songs. It was like every girl melted for them but she wasn’t going to let him do the same to her.
Will then asked if she would like to hear a song and in fact she would she hadn’t heard some descent music since she left home to come to camp half blood which was sad because it was very beautiful she then replied remembering what her dad mostly listened to at home Metallica, at first she had hated it because it was loud and the singing wasn’t to great but it had grown on her so she shouted “do you know nothing else matters by Metallica” back to him not wanting to chose another love song that could be sung to her because then she might give him the impression that she likes him which she did in away; pushing away those thoughts she waited for his response and thinking of a back up song if he didn’t know it.

Oh Will knew the song alright. Metallica was one of his favorite classics. One couldn't buy better vintage music. He gave the girl a smile and said, "Why yes, yes I do know that song. It's a classic, hard to actually play too. Just the way I like songs, challenging."
He gave a smirk and then ran a hand once again down the neck before placing his left hand on the strings and his right over the base board with a pick. Lightly he grasped the pick in his hand as he began to strum the guitar with the exact precision it would take to strike even the first few notes, which required the lightest of touch on some of the highest strings of the guitars neck. Three notes about on the 12 fret and the three thinnest strings rang true, making Will's skin shiver with energy from its tone. Gently he caressed each note after that like it was some holy musical scripture. Once he got to the words he sang them loud and clear with feeling and compassion for the song. Will believed that if he put his heart and soul into the song, it would be meaningful.
Like the first song he played while she was there, it rang through the tree's. Its sound carrying past the theater and deep into the woods and to the camp possibly even itself. But what did not leave the theater, clung in the air like a tight vibration. This only built and spurred Will's energy further. The song flowed like it had been played for the first time on air. Sure his voice was different, but it was the inflection that mattered, not the true nature of the song itself. Honestly he was sad when the song ended. Hearing each song be sang was like being lost in a world even if it was only for a few moments in time. He looked back up at her his hand rested ones again on the guitars box.
"Well, what did ya think?" he inquired. "I hope it was good enough. Seeing as how I know songs like that can be messed up sometimes. Your welcome to come down closer if you'd like and talk. Maybe I could play another song for you." TAG: Alison | open Words: Don't care Song: Nothing Else Matters-Metallica Notes: Metallica <3.....

Alison was glad to hear that will knew the song and the band itself it was great to hear some descent music around camp because there weren’t any cell phones or iPods aloud. As he started to play she wasn’t focused of her surroundings for once it was all on will he gave it his all and he was good not missing a chord or lyric and he was in tune which was impressing because it was a hard song. As she sat to listen until it finished she felt sad it was done her ears were aching to hear more from his smooth voice knowing he was putting on the charm just because she was a girl and just so happened to be there.
As she was thinking to herself and starring at him he seemed to be saying something that she only caught bits and pieces of, “what ya think, hope it was good, come closer and another song” that didn’t mean much but she did she walked up to first row and sat in the chair closest to him. Wait she thought he was doing this to her on purpose she wasn’t supposed to like him she like Jake she then turned away from him and promised herself not to think like that again to just see him as a friend. She then looked back at him with new eyes he wasn’t appealing just a boy that got in her way. But she stayed in her seat and said, “that was awesome not many people can master nothing else matters” she then told him, “I would like to hear another song it’s not every day we get some descent music I like anything just not anything slow or love songs, surprise me.” As she waited to hear what song he would sing she sat in her seat and glanced upwards and saw it was starting to get late but she didn’t have anything to do so she sat and waited glance back at him she got caught in his eyes not meaning to but she was frozen there starring at the son of Apollo.

Will smirked, he had the girl hooked on his music. Its not like he was trying to be a flirt really, he just naturally could attract those around him with his bright personality. However, he did enjoy the fact that someone was willing to listen to him sing and play. Although Will barely knew her, he always had the rule of thumb of casually flirt with the girls and compliment the guys makes for a better life all around. Will was one of those kind of kids that knew people liked feeling cared about, noticed, or even complimented by what they do, how they look, or who they are. Being a veteran of social interaction, he could tell she knew he was flirting and that it was making her feel embarrassed. Yet it wasn't like he was trying to hard, he didn't want to scare her off after all. In his mind there's always a different between casual flirting and intimate flirting. Casual was the kind that was ever meant to be a lead on unless the person getting flirted wanted it to be more. Yet it was still a nice way to say I think your nice.
However, what he was even more enthusiastic about was the fact that she took an interest in his music. Not many girls liked the types of music that he did. So to see someone that liked "Fast" music was rare. It was a fresh relief for him. He wasn't much of a love singer, unless of course the ladies wanted it really bad. The only slow songs he played were ones that related to rock anyway like "Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green day or "Angel" by Aerosmith. Out of all the genres he loved rock, and he wouldn't exchange his love for it for nothing. To do so would be like to cut a chunk of himself away to leave a bleeding hole where that should have been. So if anything that hook his interest on her more was the fact she was musically savvy and not just some bimbo posing and going te he he about how cute he was instead. Honestly that sort of thing after a while drove him nuts to be around. He wanted his talent seen too, instead of just ever girl seeing his bicepts and not really paying attention after using the excuse of wanting to hear him sing to just see his body only.
"Glad you like the music. Not many do, or really listen for that matter. It's nice to see someone who actually takes an interest." he stated and got ready to play a new song for her. It was his way of saying I like you, without actually saying so outright. He was glad that she came closer to, it made it easier to see her face, look into her eyes, and mean the songs that he sang. It made playing so much more intimate when any audience was closer and since there was only one, he wanted her to be close enough that he could see her face clearly. Once he got another song in his head to play he began to strum again the guitar. "Here's one I am not sure you would know, but for some reason every time I hear this song it makes my skin crawl with energy. It's a tad slow but its still considered rock." He began to play the song and then sing, Will loved Nightwish.

Alison sat in the first row over the time when Will sat there she was trying to figure him out what was his angle; because she knew he was flirting but being respectful it was the friendly flirting. Alison tried to ignore the boys charm but it wouldn’t go away his gaze was making her melt right into him which he probably does with every girl so she broke the gaze and went into her own world blocking out her surroundings so she could think and get over Aphrodite’s power which she hated. Alison then thought of Jake his hair, his eyes, his laugh and Will no longer existed and she remembered who she loved Jake Mason. When forgetting her thoughts she snapped out of her own little world to see him looking at her about to talk; he then said "Glad you like the music. Not many do, or really listen for that matter. It's nice to see someone who actually takes an interest." This was ironic to her thoughts she new girls only liked him for his looks which was ashamed because most can’t see past that; Alison then replied to his comment “they should listen you, your really good; and well when we lived up in the Rockies there was really nothing to do so we sang and listened to music, my dad used to have a guitar and we would sing and play together when I was a child, it was fun, but then I came here and there wasn’t much music around so that’s why I came in to listen to you because really it isn’t everyday someone plays some of your favourite songs perfectly” Alison then let of a little smile but quickly got away from that making herself uncomfortable.
He then started to play again lightening the mood he played perfectly a song she had remembered hearing but couldn’t remember the song name or the artist it was good and she didn’t want it to end the tone was so catchy she couldn’t help it so she sang along “ princess in the tower, children in the fields life gave him it all an island of the universe” she then stopped realising she was embarrassing herself badly, when the name of the song popped in her head The Islander. Her dad and her had played a game on guitar once he would listen to music all day then in the end he would play a bit of it and she would have to guess, Alison remembered she gave up right away not knowing when her dad had said in a loud voice” The Islander” she remembered being startled but then laughing. Will kept on bringing back happy memories to her and now she couldn’t help but smile she then waited for the song to be over so she could thank him for everything because happiness wasn’t something Alison got a lot and once she had it she never wanted to let it go.
