Overall:
Like any God, Mouggos is a complex character. He has both good and bad qualities about him.
First and foremost, Mouggos is the god of the mute, so he has abilities to do with sound. He can often be seen in the mortal realm, playing some sort of wind instrument when not teaching. Pan pipes are his favourite instrument, and if he didn’t have an item of power already, the pan pipes would have been his item of power. Mouggos is quite gentle and known for his quiet observation. When he’s listening to someone, he tends to let the other person talk their problem out before giving his opinion. He will always try to be fair when involved as a medium between two people.
Mouggos is able to make himself mute, and will do so when he doesn’t feel the need to talk (which happens to be most of the time) or when he’s teaching in the mortal realm. He will curse those with muteness if they insult or prejudiced against mute people. He will also curse them if he finds them genuinely irritating, it takes a lot to irritate him. As well as cursing people, he also blesses people with the gift of speech. He will bless people he deems worthy of being able to speak, as well as some of his demigod children – he hasn’t blessed all of them simply because he feels that they’d eventually take the gift of speech for granted somehow.
When around the other Gods of Olympus or other Vea Gods, Mouggos tends to make himself mute and will only unmute himself to the closest of friends or his immediate immortal family. He will also speak when visiting his demigod kids in dreams or visiting Camp Zion. Mouggos is also known for his lusty nature, a trait that he shares with his father and grandfather, which is one of his less favourable traits. Another less favourable trait is that he will brush off anyone who isn’t very intelligent or only thinks of themself, but will still be polite to them. He also dislikes his father, Ares and his brothers, Phobos, When dealing with enemies, Mouggos is as cold as ice and only responds with caustic remarks and a dazzling display of sound-based attacks.
Mouggos, fortunately, is intelligent and has gone around the world, learning a vast array of things. He’s also able spot things that other people may miss, and is able to read body language and is able to tell when someone is lying through body language.
So, to sum it up, Mouggos is a kind, intelligent and caring God, who has no time for barbarian-like people, the unintelligent, the selfish and people who like to instil fear and terror into others.
HISTORY
Born: N/A
Homeland: N/A
History: Mouggos’s origins are, like any other origins of a God, are tragic, or would be if it didn’t have a God in it. As we all know, the Greek Gods were quite lusty, and perhaps the most famous womaniser of the Gods was Zeus. However, he was not the only lusty God around, for it seemed as if his children had inherited his lustiness. One such God was Ares, God of War. Ares, bored out of his mind, decided to go out into the mortal realm, hoping to cause some trouble. He visited Apollonia, hoping that he could cause trouble there. However, what he found wasn’t what he was expecting. What he found was a wood nymph and her three young daughters. Ares was so taken with the mother that he knew he had to have her.
So, with that in mind, Ares watched day and night, for five days before making his move. He started off slow and gentle, courting her endlessly but she didn’t seem interested. When this happened, Ares turned to fiercer tactics. The God of War chased the poor nymph through her forest, in the hopes of having his way with her. In the end, he managed to tie her to an apple tree. For seven consecutive nights, he lay with the bound nymph. In the process, he learned of her name, which was Belanidia. Once he had had his way with her, they parted ways. The distraught nymph fled back to her daughters, who had been hiding.
Sometime later, Belanidia gave birth to septuplets. The mother named them after things that were associated with them. Mouggos was born fourth and was given his name after no sound appeared to come from his mouth. After the birth of her seven children, things settled down and the three half-sisters bonded with their new siblings. Like with any other God or Goddess, the siblings’ growth rate sped up until they were adolescents. Also, they exhibited powers. For Mouggos, he appeared to have sound-based abilities: he could mute his feet, increase and decrease sounds, focus on one sound and even drive passing animals insane with just sound. But that was not all that he discovered. The son of Ares discovered that he could actually speak. Furthermore, Mouggos found that he knew all the different hand-signs of the world. So, over the years the son of the God of War formed strong bonds with his family and honed his powers, making sure that he had absolute control and mastery over them.
All seemed well within their family, however, soon his father came for them. Hera, Queen of the Skies had seen the family, watching them over the years. Wanting to confirm as to who their father was, she had asked Ares to bring them to Olympus. Belanidia was naturally afraid for her children’s safety – it wasn’t every day the Queen of the Gods sent for adolescents – well, as far as she knew anyway. It was on the journey that Mouggos’s dislike for his father began. The man just seemed really brutish – not in a neanderthal way but just….he didn’t care for the lives of innocents, as long as he got a war he seemed happy. Mouggos had been paying attention to his father’s horrific retellings of past wars and had heard the pride in his voice. It made the young Godling sick!
Mouggos was glad to be on Olympus and was awe-struck by the home of the Gods. A guy with winged sandals greeted them and took them to see Hera. When Mouggos met Hera one word came to mind: power. The woman exuded power and authority. It seemed that she had made a picnic, for there was a lovely spread. She and the siblings had a long conversation, talking about what powers they had, about their mother and half-sisters. Then the matter of their father came up and the siblings became silent. Mouggos deliberately made himself mute. Ares had been asked to stay in the room. After five minutes of silence, Hera managed to link the two together. Why she hadn't realised sooner was undetermined.
Afterwards, she decreed that the siblings would become the next generation of Gods, along with others when they became of age. However, they would be bound by secrecy, along with their father, Ares, and would be able to show themselves when the time was right. So, after the meeting with the Queen of the Gods, the siblings were sent back down to Earth, on the condition that they would attend a secret ceremony with Hera and the other new Godlings - she had asked them to figure out what they wanted to be Gods of, what their sacred animal should be and what their symbol of power should be. For the next thirteen years, Mouggos and his siblings trained and trained, making sure that they had absolute mastery over their powers. Mouggos discovered what animal and symbol of power he wanted. It was when he was in the woods that he saw a mockingbird carrying branches to its nest. The young Godling noticed how loud the mockingbird was. He studied the noise a few times before mimicking the sound perfectly. Confused, the mockingbird looked up from its building site. The Godling and the mockingbird conversed and the mockingbird liked Mouggos so much that it decided to become his pet, thus the mockingbird became Mouggos’s animal.
The day came when Hera performed the secret ceremony. Mouggos told Hera that his animal would be the mockingbird and his symbol of power would be an open, concave scroll filled with hand signs. After the ceremony was over with, Mouggos and his siblings were fully-fledged gods. Mouggos set to work straight away. He didn’t live on Olympus but with his mother and half-sisters. He found peace of mind when he was with them. His siblings had decided to move “out” as it were and now lived in different parts of the world. The mute god cursed many people with muteness over the coming years, often due to them insulting mute people. Of course, he was also a kind god and visited them, blessing the mute with the power of speech. Mouggos was happy with his job and thought he should be at least civil to his father. If he had to see him every so often then he should at least try to be polite to him.
Over the next two decades, Mouggos got to know most of the gods and learned which ones he could trust and which ones he should steer clear of. During that time period, Mouggos befriended Athena, Hestia, Philophrosyne and several others. It is also said that Mouggos sired the very first ninjas. Life went on for the God of Stealth and the Mute and he became a god that sang and flew with the mockingbirds. He also visited each of his godly friends and celebrated the coming of spring with Persephone and others at festivals. It would be during the changing of the Japanese time periods, when the Japanese were starting to make samurai swords and whatnot that a son of Mouggos’s would die. The son was called Sarentai, and when he died, Mouggos was so depressed by his son’s death that he retrieved his son from the Underworld and made him immortal, thus Sarentai became the God of Ninjas and Assassins.
It would be during the medieval era that other new gods and goddesses would emerge. Mouggos would befriend most of them, and it was then that he would properly inherit his father’s lusty nature but on a much lesser scale. Mouggos and the other new gods came together and it was unanimously decided that the demigod children of these new gods would have somewhere where they could be safe, a camp as it were. So, Mouggos and the others created the camp known as Camp Zion. The God of the Mute led his demigod children there and, with the other gods explained what the camp was going to be used for. They put Sir Lancelot and the Lady of the Lake in charge of the camp, just like how Chiron and Lupa are in charge of their respective camps. Sir Lancelot would be in charge of combat training while the Lady of the Lake would be in charge of the magical aspect of things. Mouggos, his mother and half-sisters moved to an empty area of Avalon and made his palace there. Avalon was originally in England but like Olympus moved around and settled in America. His mother and half-sisters had their little cottage within his garden.
Mouggos would carry on with his godly duties, and watch over his children at Camp Zion as time went on. Since he wasn’t bound by the rules of Olympus, the God of Stealth and the Mute was able to visit his demigod children, and grant them the power of speech if he felt them worthy enough. Time passed and Mouggos was seen wherever the Olympians influenced mortals. He helped more people and saw more of the world. He also had godly children of his own, most noticeably having two daughters with Aphrodite and a son with Philophrosyne. The God of Stealth and Mute would then successfully live to see present day. He was able to see the mortal world a lot more, due to the number of people having selective mutism increasing. He also went out into the world to teach sign language to deaf children and in schools.
Sadly, Mouggos was unable to stay out of the Second Titan War that occurred. He may not have been bound by Olympian rules but he had allied himself with several of the Olympians and so was duty-bound to participate. He demonstrated his formidable powers and unique fighting style and once managed to take out a whole platoon of monsters by sound alone. During this time he didn’t visit Camp Zion but sent regular correspondence to Sir Lancelot, updating him on the war and its goings on.
When the war was over, Mouggos returned to his mortal and godly duties, claiming his children in ceremonies at Camp Zion when he got time. As of late Mouggos is now siding with Hera/Juno in her attempt to unite the Greeks and Romans to fight Gaia but so far has not been seen, only visiting the demigods of Camp Zion in dreams. He hopes to meet the Seven and help them in any way he can.

The Underworld, where the dead go when they die. Where the heroic receive a blessed life of eternity and purely evil-hearted spend eternity doing horrific punishments for their deeds on Earth. The Lord of the Underworld was currently in his bedchambers trying to think of a lovely anniversary gift to give to his beloved wife: Persephone. It had been thirteen years since they had been married and Hades was still in love with her. Yes, he still felt guilt over making his sister weep over the loss of her daughter and thereby making no food grow but he had been lonely back then. Back then, his desire to have Persephone had outweighed the consequences he knew were sure to come.
He had gone through a dozen ideas but none seemed to have matched the love he felt for Persephone. True he had gone after two nymphs during one of their drier patches of marriages but Persephone had quickly reminded him that she was his wife and not to be taken lightly. So, from that moment on Hades had become a dutiful husband. This was rather infuriating! The Lord of Underworld could handle dishing out punishments perfectly well but when it came to his own wife, he became like a little schoolboy, who was afraid to do anything to displease his new friend!
Letting out a frustrated sigh, Hades decided to tend to some of his subjects; ones who had become lax as of late. That should put him in a better frame of mind to continue thinking of anniversary gifts. So, getting up from his bed, the Lord of the Underworld walked out of the room. It wasn’t long before he sensed a familiar aura. He smiled, knowing who it was. He saw a servant, and gave them a rare Hades smile. He said for them to go as he knew who it was. To make it quicker for him and his special guest, he shadow-travelled into the throne room, and walked in front of them. He embraced her in a loving hug.
“Mother, so good to see you. How are things?”
